Museum of Science Fiction Partners with OMNI Reboot
Shared content and joint events to enhance sci-fi community

Washington, D.C. (June 10, 2014) — The Museum of Science Fiction, the world’s first comprehensive science fiction museum, announced today a partnership with OMNI Reboot, an online project advancing the classic science and science-fiction magazine, for a shared relationship of curated content, events and promotion.

In joining forces, the two entities further their shared vision of growing the science-fiction community while working together to promote science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) education. Since its inception in 1978, OMNI has encouraged its readers to dream and wonder. Similarly, the Museum of Science Fiction seeks to excite, educate, and entertain.

“Combining our voices and resources in support of the science - fiction community is the natural next step for both OMNI Reboot and the Museum of Science Fiction,” said Jeremy Frommer, who leads OMNI Reboot. “We both recognize the importance of bringing science fiction to a wider audience and understand the role it plays in educating and inspiring the public.”

“OMNI is an institution within the science fiction community,” said Greg Viggiano, the Museum of Science Fiction’s executive director. “We’re proud to partner with such an iconic organization as we continue to elevate the representation and appreciation of science fiction.”

As part of the partnership, the Museum of Science Fiction will host via its website an online-exclusive gallery co-curated by OMNI Reboot. Both entities also will co-host events in the science - fiction space and work together to promote their combined efforts and each other. Additional details will be revealed in coming months.

About the Museum of Science Fiction

The nonprofit Museum of Science Fiction (MoSF) will be the world’s first comprehensive science fiction museum, covering the history of the genre across the arts and providing a narrative on its relationship to the real world. MoSF will show how science fiction continually inspires individuals, influences cultures and impacts societies. Also serving as an educational opportunity to expand interest in the science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) areas, MoSF uses tools such as mobile applications and wi-fi-enabled display objects to engage and entertain. About OMNI Reboot

Omni Reboot is the intersection of science, technology, art, culture, design, and metaphysics. It is an experience, as well as an environment for the informed and the information seeker. On our quest for truth, we speculate about tomorrow, uncover hidden realities, and live to make our readers dream and wonder. We’re a free-rolling resource in a terrifying, wonderful, metamorphosing world. We aim to teach and we hope to learn. We don’t draw lines between disciplines; we revel in simultaneity. We understand that art is a form of inquiry. We ask the wrong questions as well as the right ones. We don’t put science on a pedestal; instead, we drag it down into the city, onto the screen, and into the stream of everyday life. We’ll question your most deeply-held conceptions of what technology does. We’ll ask what the future can do for you. We encourage you to test ideas in the laboratory of your own nervous system.
